During this visit our team was exposed to Merryvale's full product portfolio, their unique harvesting and wine making techniques and a glimpse into the future of the winery. All of this first-hand knowledge allows us to better educate our guests as they look to our experts for recommendations and guidance in their wine purchasing decisions.

A few facts about Merryvale-

The first winery built in Napa Valley following the repeal of Prohibition, Merryvale is located in the heart of America's premier wine region. Beautiful landscaped gardens accented with an elegant fountain greet our guests at our historic winery, ideally located in downtown St. Helena, adjacent to the renowned Tra Vigne restaurant and Taylor’s Refresher and within walking distance of excellent shopping and dining.

Local Man Makes Liquid Gold in Napa

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 294px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_cDfTj7Wz6GQ/SyvHQBANHWI/AAAAAAAAAF8/Pvw4o_g7wZI/s320/celani+cabernet.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5416642054804282722" />

Celani Cabernet Sauvignon, abundant Black fruit with a smooth, elegant lush finish.

Poured at fine dining establishments for $16 a glass. Now that's fresh!

Selection and Care:
When buying corn, choose ears with medium-sized kernels. Very small kernels are immature, and large kernels have a starchy taste, rather than a sweet one. The husk of the corn should be moist and green. Leaving husks on when storing corn preserves the flavor. At room temperature the glucose in corn will convert to starch in as little as 24 hours. Therefore, refrigeration of this vegetable is critical for maintaining freshness.

Did You Know:

Michigan produced over 10,000 acres of sweet-corn in the year 2000 for fresh consumption alone?

One ear of corn averages 800 kernels in 16 rows. You may hear them referred to as Donuts, Saturns or Saucers. They are descended from the flat peaches of China and were first grown in America in the late 1800s. They generally run up to 3 1/2 inches in diameter with a flat, round look that draws down and in at the center. The skin will be a pale yellow with a red blush. You can judge ripeness on this peach from both touch and smell. The aroma will increase as it nears perfection and the skin will yield when you squeeze it. I find that you don't want to let this fruit get too soft but should eat it when it begins to give to your touch but still has some firmness. These unique white peaches will be succulent and sweet. They will continue to get better as we go forward into July. Enjoy them for they are a taste of the wonderful California summer!
Only $2.99lb these are a great summer treat.

Limited Edition Beemster Graskaas is Here!

Westborn Market is excited to celebrate summer with the new limited edition Beemster. Beemster's world famous milk becomes even more coveted during the first week of every spring. The milk given by the cows of the Beemster polder during the first week of spring grazing is the creamiest milk of the year. This is the milk used to create the special edition Beemster Graskaas. During this limited period, enough milk is collected to craft only 2,000 wheels(half of which are shipped to the United States) of this unique cheese. Graskaas is made in the beginning of April by master cheesemakers utilizing techniques dating back to 1901, and then aged for one month before its debut at the Spring Cheese Festival.
Available at all our locations for only $9.99lb a great value for this special cheese.

New All Natural Brownies - Certified Gluten-Free

Scrumptious bite-size morsels of gluten-free goodness. 10.2 ounces of amazing chocolate flavor and they are also Trans Fat Free!
